‘YOU’RE FIRED!”. Well, that got my attention. Mr. Cox had just fired me after one year on the job. I was operating rice dryers and seed rice processing equipment in Katy, Texas. I had a seven-month pregnant wife, a two-year-old daughter, and no money. I asked Mr. Cox if he could let me work for two more weeks so I could keep paying my house rent and look for a job. He agreed. By the next day, I “found” a job…..starting Nelson Plant Food. I created this company to help others by giving them the highest quality product. That was 40 years ago. What did I learn? When you come to a roadblock in life, go around it.
